Gary McCrory
Gary M. McCrory, 51, Mayetta, died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at a Holton hospital from injuries suffered in a vehicle repair accident at his home.
Mr. McCrory owned and operated McCrory Carpentry near Denison for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was born September 12, 1949, at Holton, the son of Malvin and Clara Mann McCrory.
He graduated from Denison High School in 1967. Mr. McCrory was a lifelong member of the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was chairman of the Church Deacon Board.
He married Karen Bums August 4, 1973, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Phillip McCrory, Circleville; two daughters, Michelle Wentz, Ft. Polk, LA, and Melissa McCrory, Hiawatha; his mother, Clara McCrory, Mayetta; a brother, Glen McCrory, Rossville; two sisters, Colleen Oakes, St Cloud, MN, and Carolyn Thornburg, Hoyt; and twin granddaughters.
His service was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Denison. Burial was in Denison Cemetery. Visitation was held from 7 to 8:30 Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton.
The family suggest memorials to die Gary McCrory Memorial Fund, to be designated later, and sent in care of the Denison State Bank, Holton, KS 66436.
