Irene Ketter
Irene Ketter, 86, Delia, died Thursday, April 17,1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born July 11,1910, at Wetmore, the daughter of Thomas Duggin and Birdie L. Donaldson Troughton. She had lived in the Delia and Rossville communities for many years.
She grew up in the Wetmore community and was graduated from Wetmore High School. After she was married, she lived in the Hoyt and Emmett communities before moving to Delia. She later moved to Rossville, and then back to Delia. She worked at the Supply Depot, the Adams Printing, both in Topeka, and later worked in the lunch room for the Rossville schools, and as a clerk in the Motor Vehicle Department for the State of Kansas.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia, and the Altar Sodality at the church.
She was married to Lawrence B. Ketter on July 12, 1927, at Purcell. He died March 21,1967. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lou DeBacker, on July 26,1977.
Immediate survivors include a daughter, Florence Martin, Topeka; two sons, Lawrence B. Ketter, Jr. and Melvin Ketter, both of Topeka; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Restoration Fund and sent in care of the Funeral Home.

DELIA - Iren Ketter, 6, Delia, died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Ketter worked at the Supply Depot and Adams Printing, both in Topeka, and in the lunchroom at the Rossville school and later as a clerk for the State of Kansas Motor Vehicle Department.
