| Obituary- McGuire, Charlotte Mrs. James McGuire Passes
Away
Mrs. James McGuire passed away Tuesday night at 12 o’clock after an illness of several months. The cause of death was stomach trouble. Mrs. McGuire is one of the first settlers of Rossville township having come here in 1854 with the second party of Pottawatomie Indians which migrated from Wisconsin. Her father, Paul View settled first at Indianola later on the Vermillion in Pottawatomie county. Mrs. McGuire’s birth record was lost years ago and her exact age is not known but is probably near 70. Mrs. McGuire has lived in Rossville and vicinity for 60 years. She was educated in the old Baptist Mission that formerly Stood south of Topeka, and the old St. Marys mission. To Mrs. McGuire’s first marriage four children were born—Mrs. Carrie Morrow, of Ogden, Mrs. Luella Helcel, of Lexington, Okla., David Stackhouse also of Lexington and Frank Stackhouse of this city. She is survived beside her children, one sister, Mrs. Ellen Peltier of Okla. and her husband.
Mrs. McGuire’s birth place was Greenbav, Wisconsin. The funeral was held at the Catholic church this morning and interment made in the Rossville cemetery.
