| Anniversary- Lady, Herbert and Helen Herbert and Helen Lady
Herbert and Helen Lady, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for relatives and friends from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Reynolds Lodge, on the east side of Lake Shawnee.
Hosting the reception will be their children, Larry and Barbara Lady, Topeka; Gary and Joetta Lady, Grover Beach, Calif.; and Rebecca Lady, Wichita. They have six grandchildren.
Herbert Lady and Helen Myrick were married Jan. 25, 1945, at Algiers Naval Base, New Orleans, La.
The couple request no gifts.

ROSSVILLE — Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka for Herbert G. Lady, 72, Rossville, who died Feb. 9, 1996, at a hospital in Topeka.
He was born July 5, 1923, in Enterprise in Dickinson County, the son of Harry H. and Lola Samson Lady, and spent most of his life in the Topeka and Rossville communities. He was an electrician for Local No. 226 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and currently was a delivery driver for Dillon's Market at 21st and Belle.
Mr. Lady was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Topeka Lodge No. 17, AF&AM, and Scottish Rite bodies in Topeka. He was a member and past patron of Topeka Chapter No. 462 of Order of Eastern Star and was a past associate guardian of Bethel Chapter No. 1 of Job’s Daughters. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and served 18 years as recording secretary.
He was married to Helen M. Myrick
Jan. 25, 1945, in Louisiana. She survives. A grandson, James David Lady, died May 9, 1972. A great-grandson, Matthew Sterling Lady, died Jan. 15, 1996.
Other survivors include two sons,
Larry D. Lady and Gary Lady, both in
Topeka; a daughter, Rebecca S. Lady, Wichita; a sister, Virginia Hagelin, Jacksonville, Ala.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Orient Lodge No. 51, AF&AM, in
Topeka will conduct graveside services at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Lady will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Galveston Unit of Shriners Burn Institutes and sent in care of Arab Shrine, 1305 Kansas, 66612.
