    Ray Laswell Drowned
Kay Laswell the fourteen year old son of G. R. Laswell of near Elmont, was drowned last Thursday afternoon in the Kaw river near the little station of Spencer north east of Topeka. After an all night search the body was found the next day about twenty feet from where the drowning occurred. The body was found by Chas. Drennan, who dived for it. The boy had gone swimming with a companion while waiting for his fathers return from Topeka. The funeral was held from the Penwell chapel at two o'clock Saturday afternoon and the body taken to Adrian for burial. The boy was a nephew of Marion Laswell living north of Rossville.
