Mr. Cecil Lemon and Miss Anna Lee were united in marriage by the probate judge in his office at Topeka Wednesday morning. Both are popular young people living a few miles northwest of town--the groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lemon and the bride has made her home for several years past with her uncle, Mr. Kennett.

| Anniversary- Lemon, Cecil and Anna Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lemon were pleasantly surprised last Sunday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Charley Lemon, where relatives gathered to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. A covered dish luncheon was served cafeteria style. Mr. and Mrs. Lemon were presented with two sets of silver ware. The following relatives and friends were present: Mr. and Mrs. James Lee and sons, of Axtel, Ks., Mr. and Mrs. John Lee and sons of Vermilon; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Holder and children of Soldier; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee and family of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Troy Lemon. Miss Frances Whittington, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Carrol of Manhattan; Mrs. Dora Lee of Topeka; Miss Alice Lemon. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lemon and children. |

| Obituary- Lemon, Anna 1 Anna E. Lemon
Rossville - Mrs. Anna E. Lemon, 79, died Sunday at her home here. She had a heart ailment.
She was born Sept. 23, 1891, at Westmoreland and spent most of her life in the Rossville community.
She was a member of the Christian Church, Amaryllis Chapter No. 321, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors of America, the auxiliary of the American Legion, and the Countryside Club, all at Rossville.
Her husband, Cecil C. Lemon, died June 26, 1948.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Lemon, 1226 N. Kansas, Topeka, Virgil Lemon, Rossville, Clyde Lemon, Davenport, Iowa, and Donald Lemon, Sioux City, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Farley, Rossville, Mrs. Thelma Carrell, Manhattan, Mrs. Anita Vande Velde, Emmett, and Mrs. Dorothy McDonald, Kansas City; three brothers, Arthur Lee, 3603 Westview, Topeka, James Lee, Springdale, Ark., and John Lee, Vermillion; 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Parker Mortuary is in charge of arrangement. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. |
