| Obituary- Levier, Mary Mrs. Mary 'Shugo' Levier
Mrs. Mary "Shugo" Levier, 72, 1119 N. Central, died Friday at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1910 in Delia, the daughter of William and Anngeline Blackbird Matchie Moore. She moved from the Potawatomi Indian Reservation to Topeka 30 years ago
Mrs. Levier was a member of Prairie Band of Potawatomie Indian Tribe and Indian Drum Religion.
She was married to Peter Oliver Levier in 1941. He died Aug. 17, 1971.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Wood, Mrs. Bernadette Lewis, Sharon Levier, and Mrs. Martha Valdiva, all of Topeka; two sons, Albert Moore and Glen Levier, both of Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Keesis, Holton, and Mrs. Helen White Pidgeon, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Indian Drum Service will be Sunday evening at Potawatomi Community Building west of Mayetta. Burial will be in Ship Shee Cemetery west of Mayetta. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
