Jacob C. Lloyd, 19, Rossville, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 1988, at a Topeka hospital. Dr. Robert D. Jensen, Shawnee County deputy district coroner, said Mr. Lloyd suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head Saturday. He was taken to the hospital from his home.
Mr. Lloyd was employed by Custom Wood Products in St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 6, 1969, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of James R. and Dorothy L. Jacobson Lloyd. He was a lifelong resident of Rossville and was graduated from Rossville, High School in 1986, He attended Kansas State University at Manhattan during the 1987-88 school year.
Mr. Lloyd was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
Survivors include his parents, James and Dorothy Lloyd, Rossville; and grandparents, Catherine Jacobson, Rossville, and Cecil and Helen Lloyd, Willard.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vershelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Mr. Lloyd will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Family Shelter Inc., 507 Fillmore, Topeka, 66606.
Rossville youth’s death
ruled suicide by coroner
A 19-year-old man found wounded Saturday morning at his Rossville home died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Topeka, a coroner said.
Jacob C. Lloyd died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, said Dr. Robert D. Jensen, Shawnee County deputy district coroner.
