 | Obituary- Logan, Leila Leila Logan
Mrs. Leila James Logan, 88, 4712 W. 6th, died Sunday at the Presbyterian Manor where she had lived since 1971.
She was born Aug. 14, 1889, in Shawnee County and spent most of her life in Topeka. She was graduated from Washburn University in 1913.
Mrs. Logan was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Shawnee County Historical Society, Topeka Woman’s Club and the Topeka Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She formerly served on the Topeka Presbyterian Manor board and was a member of the Washburn University Alumni Association.
She was married to Harry R. Logan Sept. 7, 1916, at Green Mountain Falls, Colo. They formerly lived at 1335 Wayne many years. He died Dec. 16, 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wait, 6910 Dancaster Road, and Dr. Maribeth Murphy, San Diego, and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Harry R. Logan Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Washburn University School of Law and sent in care of the university, 66621.
Mrs. Logan will lie in state at the funeral home until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after which the casket will remain closed.
