LaVon Paxton
LaVon “Mom” Paxton, 68, Topeka, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at her home.
She was born March 22,1932, in Topeka, the daughter of John B. and Leona Mosher Richardson. She attended Highland Park High School.
Mrs. Paxton retired from Peacock Cleaners in 1965, and she later worked at Suki’s Bar and Grill.
She was a member of Auxiliary to Post No. 1 of the American Legion.
On August 22, 1950, she married Richard Paxton in Topeka. He died March 19,1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Roth, Glendale, AZ; two sons, Richard R. Paxton, Peoria, AZ and Stephen A. Paxton, Topeka; a sister, Helen M. Martinek, Rossville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 1:00 p.m., Monday at the Rossville Cemetery. Visitation was 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
