| Obituary- Pearl, Florence Mrs. Florence Pearl of Sandy Hook died at age 68
Mrs. Florence G. Pearl 68, of the Sandy Hook community near Rossville, died Wednesday evening in a Topeka hospital after a long illness.
The daughter of James and Mary Doyle, she was born Dec. 14, 1893 at Belvue. After attending Immaculate Conception High School at St. Marys and St. Mary’s Academy at Leavenworth, she taught in various grade schools in Pottawatomie County and in the Rossville Grade School.
She was prefect of St. Ann’s Sodality and an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary at St. Marys.
She and Thomas M. Pearl were married Oct. 11, 1921. He died March 1, 1960.
Survivors include three sons, James B. Pearl and Gerald T. Pearl, both of St. Marys, and Robert L. Pearl Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie M. Guerich of the home; Mrs. Maureen T. Howes, Marlboro, Mass., and Sister Thomas Ann, Concordia; 17 grandchildren, three sisters, Sister Mary Conception, Aberdeen, SD.; Mrs. Regina Coleman, St. Marys, and Mrs. Genevieve Dockry, De Pere, Wis., and a brother, Leo Doyle, St. Marys.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Church at St. Marys with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery there. Rosary was recited in Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys Friday at 3 p.m., by St. Ann’s Sodality and at 8:30 p.m. by the parish.
