| Anniversary- Pearl, James and Rosa FIFTY YEARS ON SAME FARM
Fifty years of married life, all spent on the same farm, were celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. James H. Pearl, who live five miles southwest of Rossville, with a family dinner at noon and a reception from 2 to 5 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26.
The Pearls were married and moved to their present home Jan. 26 1886. Mr. Pearl has been a Kansan for sixty-four years. Mrs. Pearl for fifty-four years. He was born in Columbus, Warren county, Pa., December 4, 1858, and came to Kansas in February of the year of 1872 Mrs. Pearl was born in Sterling. Whiteside county, Ill., January 2 1861, and came to Kansas in February, 1882. The relatives present for the occasion, were five of their six children and their families Mr. and Mrs. John Pearl and family; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pearl and family; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pearl and Family; Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas, of Kansas City, Miss Rose Pearl, Miss Katherine Halloran, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ronsse, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Ronsse, Mr. James Doyle, Mr. Leo Doyle.

| Obituary- Pearl, Rose Rose C. Pearl
ST. MARYS - Rose C. Pearl, 84, St. Marys, died Monday, April 22, at a St. Marys nursing home.
She was a nurses aide at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka before she retired. Previously she taught in the James School District west of Rossville in the early 1930s, and at Lost Creek School north of Belvue in 1936.
Miss Pearl was born Jan. 2, 1901, in the Sandy Hook community southeast of St. Marys, the daughter of James H. and Rose Kiernan Pearl. She moved to Topeka in 1948, then moved to St. Marys in 1977.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at St. Marys, and a former member of Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.
