| Anniversary- Peters, Cecil and Ada Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Peters to Observe Golden Anniversary
A 50th wedding anniversary reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Peters, Silver Lake, will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 Sunday, June 22, at the United Methodist Church, Silver Lake.
Hosts will be the couple’s children, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Peters, Silver Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peters, Overland Park, Mr. and Mrs. Gray Swain, Topeka, and their families. Friends and relatives are invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Peters were married June 19, 1930, in Topeka. Before moving to Silver Lake three and one-half years ago, they had lived in Topeka for 32 years and in the Delia community for 14 years. Mr. Peters retired in 1973, alter 47 years as a barber.

Cecil O. Peters, 79, Silver Lake, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1988, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Peters was a barber and owned shops both in Delia and Topeka before he retired in 1974.
He was born Sept. 6, 1908, at Union Star, Mo., the son of William and Gertrude Pyle Peters. He lived in Delia and Topeka before he moved to Silver Lake Dec. 18, 1976.
Mr. Peters was a member of the United Methodist Church and Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, both in Silver Lake.
He was married to Ada B. Cuffel June 19, 1930, in Topeka. She died Dec. 9, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Shelby Swain, Topeka; two sons, Russell N. Peters, Silver Lake, and Harold L. Peters, Overland Park; two sisters, Ruby Peters and Bea Abram, both of Lawrence; two brothers, Claude E. Peters, Lawrence, and Lester C. Peters, Oklahoma City; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake. Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, will conduct graveside services in Delia Cemetery. Mr. Peters will lie in state after 5 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 2913 Plass Court, 66611.
