Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rafferty, St. Marys, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in the Centennial Building, St. Marys. Hosts will be their children and families: Robert and Agnes Rafferty; Keith and Dorothy Rafferty; Richard and Barbara Rafferty; Raymond and Cheryl Rafferty; and Robert and Carol Flerlage. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
Mr. and Mrs. Rafferty were married March 30, 1932, in Westmoreland. They have 18 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

| Obituary- Rafferty, Richard Richard L. Rafferty
Richard L. Rafferty, 47, Wamego, died late Monday, March 11, at a Topeka hospital where he was a patient a week. He earlier had open heart surgery.
Mr. Rafferty owned and operated the International Harvester dealership in Wamego. He worked for IHC dealerships 34 years, having been a salesman, manager and owner.
He was born Oct. 27, 1937, at St. Marys, the son of Edward Patrick and Nona Smith Rafferty. He moved from Rossville to Wamego in 1965.
Mr. Rafferty was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and Chamber of Commerce at Wamego, Future Farmers of America Alumni Association and Kansas State University Alumni Association.
He was married to Barbara M. Tillman May 26, 1962, at Miami, Okla. She survives. Twins, James L. and Janice L. Rafferty, died in infancy in 1968.
Other survivors include three daughters, Theresa Rafferty, Patricia Rafferty and Carolyn Rafferty, all of Wamego; his parents, Edward and Nona Rafferty, St. Marys; a sister, Mrs. Carol Flerlage, St. Marys; and three brothers, Robert E. Rafferty, Rossville, William K. Rafferty, St. Marys and Raymond V. Rafferty, Ozawkie.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am. Thursday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery at Wamego. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association.
