| Obituary- Reid, Alice 1 ALICE “MICKI” REID
Our beloved mother, sister and wife passed peacefully into eternal life on June 14, 2008.
Micki entered this world on Oct. 12,1939, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the youngest of seven children born to Ralph and Frances Chapin.
She was one-of-a-kind, first always to lend a helping hand no matter the cost. Micki was instrumental in founding the Rossville Community Library in 1968, an effort for which she was about to be honored for. She loved politics as much as her family, and worked at the Kansas Statehouse for Senator Wint Winter during the 1970’s. Micki also owned and operated a clothing store called Charisma in Lawrence in the late 1980s.
She is survived by her husband Robert Reid, Topeka, and three children, John, Topeka, Jayne, McClouth, Grady and daughter-in-law Kim of Louisburg, sister Shirley Deal and brother-in-law Warren, Topeka, and six grandchildren, Bailey, Jarred, Makayla, Bronson, Jake and Holden.
Private burial was in the Rossville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Midland Hospice House, Rossville Community Library or the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign.
Penwell-Gabel Parker- Price Chapel, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.
