Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Reser, Rossville, will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on August 11, 1981.
Mr. and Mrs. Reser were married in Raton, New Mex., on August 11, 1941. The couple has three children: Gerald Reser, Jr., Herndon, Va.; Donna Pauly, Wamego; and Cheryl Lemon, Topeka; and seven grandchildren.

Hosts will be their children: Gerald H. Reser Jr. and Irene Reser, Niceville, Fla.; Donna and James Pauly, Wamego; and Cheryl and Bill Hatfield, Wichita.
Gerald Harrison Reser and Donis Lee Stephan were married Aug. 11, 1941, in Raton. N.M. Mr. Reser is a retired farmer in the Rossville area. Mrs. Reser is a retired bank employee from People's State Bank and a childcare provider.
They have eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Gerald and Donis Reser of Rossville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a week’s vacation with their family in June on the Outer Banks at Corolla, N.C.
Donis Stephan and Gerald Reser were married Aug. 11,1941, at Raton, N.M.
Their children and their spouses are Gerald Jr. and Irene Reser, Niceville, Fla.; Donna and James Pauly, Overland Park; and Cheryl and Bill Hatfield, Arlington, Texas. The couple have 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

| Obituary- Reser, Gerald 1 Gerald Harrison Reser, Sr.
Gerald Harrison Reser, Sr., age 87, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Rossville, passed away on Dec. 26, 2008, at his home.
Gerald was born on July 29, 1921, at Belpre, to Joseph Harrison and Ruby (Rathbun) Reser.
He spent his early years in Macksville, before moving to Oskaloosa, with his mother and sister, his father having passed away when Gerald was a young child. Gerald graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1939. On Aug. 11, 1941, he married Donis Stephan of Nortonville, at Raton, NM.
He served during WWII in the Philippine Islands and New Guinea. In 1958, the family moved to Rossville where Gerald farmed for many years. Gerald was a charter member of Jimmie Lillard Post 31 of the American Legion. He was also a life member of the VFW and a longtime member of the 40 & 8 organization. He served many years on the board of the Rossville Com¬munity Library. After he retired from farming, Gerald worked for the City of Rossville. He had many hobbies including genealogy, woodworking, woodcarving, reading, writing stories, and trav¬eling. In later years, he and Donis were active members of the Rossville Senior Center. In 2003, they moved to Kansas City, Mo., where they currently live.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis Rice. He is survived by his wife, Donis and his three children; Gerald H. (Christine) Reser, Jr., Kansas City, MO, Donna Lee (Jim) Pauly, Overland Park, and Cheryl (Bill) Hatfield, Arlington, Tex.; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A military graveside service was held on Dec. 30 at the Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, followed by a gathering of friends at the American Legion, 442 Main St., Rossville. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Rossville Community Library, 407 Main St., Rossville, KS 66533 or to the Rossville Senior Center, 429 Pearl St., Rossville, KS 66533.
