Edward Rice, 69, Delia, died Monday in a Topeka convalescent center where he had been about a year.
He was born Oct. 22, 1908, at Delia, the son of John and Note-No-Quah Rice, and spent most of his life in the Delia community in Jackson County.
Mr. Rice was a farmer before he retired. He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi tribe.
Survivors include a sister, Marie Rice, Kansas City, Mo.; and two half- brothers, Bill Rice, Mayetta, and Donald Shobney, 1111 N. Madison.
Indian prayer services will be Tuesday evening in the Community Building west of Mayetta. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dance Ground Cemetery west of Mayetta. Mercer Funeral Home at Holton is in charge of arrangements.
