Fred W. Roberson
Fred W. Roberson, 77, Topeka, died Monday, Oct 20,1997, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Roberson was a maintenance engineer at the United Methodist Home for 33 years. He served in the 35th Division of the Army in Germany during World War II.
He was born Jan. 20, 1920, at Rossville, the son of B. Floyd and Corda Lewis Roberson. He had lived in Topeka 65 years.
Mr. Roberson was a member of Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville.
He was married to Janice Kay Frost on June 14, 1985, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sheryl S. Preston and Janice J. Kendall, both of Topeka; two stepdaughters, Cynthia J. Wilder, Carbondale, and Tamara K, Root, Olathe; a stepson, Mitchell Dean Root Sr., Maple Hill; two sisters, Elene M. Serratelli, Topeka, and Osie O. Turner, Lee’s Summit. Mo.; and 11 grandchildren
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery at Grove. Mr. Roberson will lie in state after 9 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Fred W. Roberson, 77, Topeka died Monday evening, October 20, 1997, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.
He was born January 20,1920, in Rossville, the son of B. Floyd and Corda Lewis Roberson. The family moved to Topeka when Fred was 12 years old.
He was a maintenance engineer at The United Methodist Home in Topeka for 33 years. He served in the 35th Division of the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II where he served in Germany. He was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post #31 of the American Legion at Rossville.

Military graveside honors were conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post #31 of the American Legion, Rossville, at Walnut Hill Cemetery, north of Silver Lake.
