    Golden Wedding Celebration Set

    Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hoobler of Maple Hill will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary with open house Sunday, June 9, at the Methodist Church Hall, St. Marys.

    No invitations are being issued, but friends and relatives are asked to call at the hall between 3 and 5 p.m. The couple request no gifts. A family dinner will be served at noon at the church for the immediate family.

    Mr. and Mrs. Hoobier were married June 4, 1913 at Topeka. They have nine children, 8 sons and one daughter and 29 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Hoobler have lived in the Turkey Creek community in Wabaunsee county most of their lives with the exception of living in Rossville from 1944 to 1949.

    MILDRED N. RONSSE
    Mildred N. Ronsse, 93, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the St. Marys, Manor.

    She was born Nov. 12, 1915, at Madison, the daughter of Vern P. and Mary Myrtle Rake Hoobler. She graduated from Maple Hill High School. She had lived in St. Marys many years.

    Mrs. Ronsse was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.

    She was united in marriage to Leo I. Ronsse on Aug. 24, 1940, at St. Marys. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1992, a daughter Mary Jo Ronsse preceded her in death on April 2,2008. Mrs. Ronsse was also preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Raymond, Dwight, Albert and Lloyd Hoobler.

    Survivors include four sons, Robert (Darlene) Ronsse, John (Donna) Ronsse, William (Terri) Ronsse and Perry (Anna) Ronsse, all of Topeka; a daughter, Ann (Ray) Barthuly, St. Marys; three brothers, Forest Hoobler, Topeka, Everett Hoobler, St. Marys, and Lester A. Hoobler, Seattle; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren

    Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, March 9, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.

    Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund or Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.
