Mrs. Marie A. Rose
Mrs. Marie Anna Rose, Silver Lake, died Friday, June 23, 1989, at a Topeka convalescent center. She had cancer.
Mrs. Rose worked at Morrell’s Packing Plant during her early adult life. After rearing her family she worked for Sears until she retired in June 1982.
She was born Feb. 12, 1921, on a farm north of Delia, the daughter of Renne and Zoe Daniels De Wilde. She attended grade school near Delia and high school in St. Marys. She had lived in Topeka before she moved to Silver Lake 13 years ago.
Mrs. Rose was a member of Arab Shrine Ladies, Provost Guard Unit, Santa Fe Retired Employees Club and Sears Retirement Club.
She was married to Ralph E. Rose May 1, 1947, in Perry. He survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Snell, Rita Snyder and Betty Francis, all of Topeka, and Ruth Bitters, Salinas, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Half-Day Cemetery at Elmont. Mrs. Rose will lie in state from 2 p.m. Saturday until service time at the mortuary where the family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday.
