| Obituary- Sanders, William William Sanders
William C. Sanders passed away Friday morning, November 26, three days past his 69th birthday anniversary, at his home 2 ½ miles northwest of Rossville.
He was born Nov. 23, 1874, on the same farm where he died. He was a member of the congregation of the Rossville Christian Church and of the A.O.U.W. Lodge of Rossville.
In 1909 he was married to Flora Kinnett. To this union two daughters were born, Naomi, who preceded him in death in 1917, at the age of seven, and Grace Sanders Rogers.
Mr. Sanders was endowed with all the qualities and virtues that stamp a man a good citizen; devoted to his family, a good neighbor and true friend; a patient sufferer in a long illness.
Surviving his departure are his wife, Flora, and daughter, Grace Rogers; two grandchildren, Norma Jean and Marvin Rogers; a niece, Edna Sanders Nealis and a nephew Dan Sanders, both of Stockdale, Kansas.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Rossville Christian Church, with the pastor, Gail B. Dunning, officiating. He was assisted by his brother, Dwaine Dunning of Broken Bow, Neb.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Thelma Sigler, Mrs. Peter Navarre and Peggy Janette Navarre.
The pallbearers were John Maus, Walter Trubey, Claude Dodge, Bert Haslet, Bert Hays and Clayton Carrell.
Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.
The following out-of-town relatives were in Rossville Sunday to attend the funeral service of William Sanders held at the Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. George Kinnett of Lawrence; Mrs. And Mrs. Rapha Kinnett of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. John Kinnett and Rosetta Wax, of Ozawkie; Mrs. Mattie Kinnett, Perry Kinnett and Cecil Kinnett of Wakarusa; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Patterson of Pauline, Kansas --2 Dec. 1943
