The daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schott, Rossville, announce that their parents are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, October 14. The daughters are Tracy Schott, Three Hills, Alberta, Canada; Tami Schott, Concordia; and Teresa Schott, Lawrence.

Gene and Jean Schott, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church, 8345 SW 33rd in Topeka.
Jean Striggow and Gene Schott were married Oct. 14, 1956, in Oak, Neb.
Their children are Tracey Taylor and husband Phil, Rossville, and Teresa Holmer and husband Brad, Silver Lake. Their grandchildren are Chris Eustice and wife, Lindsey, Stephen Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Jenni Holmer and Derek Holmer.
The couple retired Dec. 31, 2003, from the Shawnee Terminal Elevator in Topeka.
They request no gifts.

Carol “Jean” Schott, 74, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at her home in Rossville.
She was born Aug. 21, 1938, at
Oak, Neb., the daughter of Carl and Hazel Comstock Striggow.
She grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Nelson High School, Nelson, Neb., in 1956.
Jean had lived in the Rossville community since 1977.
Mrs. Schott was a bookkeeper and had worked at the Rossville Grain Company and later for the Shawnee Terminal Elevator in Topeka. She was a member of the Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Striggow; and a son-in-law, Philip Taylor.
On Oct. 14; 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald Eugene “Gene” Schott at Oak, Neb. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters; Tracey Taylor and Tami Eustice, both of Rossville, and Teresa (Brad) Holmer, Silver Lake; her siblings, Bonnie Colgrove, Salina, Allen Striggow, Lacey, Wash.,Mona Hansen and Shirley Jacobitz, both of Hastings, Neb., June Andelt, Crete, Neb., and Larry Striggow; Superior, Neb.; grandchildren: Chris (Kristin)
Eustice, Stephen (Jacy) Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Jenni Holmer and Derek Holmer; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Jordan, Tucker, Trey and Taylynn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
Mrs. Schott will lie in state after 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Piper Funeral Chapel, Rossville, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the Piper Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 642, Rossville, KS 66533.
