 | Obituary- Schutter, George Polio claims Silver Lake farmer, first in county
George Albert Schutter, 39, farmer from near Grove, died last Tuesday night in a Topeka hospital from infantile paralysis. His was the first death in Shawnee County this year from the disease, according to Dr. Thomas R. Hood, city-county health officer. Only eight cases have been reported in Shawnee County.
Schutter, married and the father of three children, was brought to the hospital about two weeks ago. He had been in critical condition since his arrival at the hospital. |
