| Obituary- Steffee, Candace 1 Mrs. Frank Steffee dies
Candace Ellen Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Ryan, was born in Iowa, August 28, 1873. She passed away October 8, 1956, at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 13 days.
She moved to Kansas at the age of seven years and lived the rest of her life in the Willard and Rossville communities.
She was united in marriage to Frank Steffee on December 5, 1888. To this union six children were born: four daughters, Amy Meade, Rossville; Jessie Parr, Topeka; Florence Parr, Topeka; Mary Reaser, who preceded her mother in death in 1919. Two sons: Will Steffee, Auburn; Frank Steffee, Jr., Jefferson, Oklahoma. There are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Steffee was a member of the Rossville Methodist church and a Charter Member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
She was a devoted wife and loving and kind mother. She was loved by all her neighbors and leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss.
Funeral services were set for Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Burial in Rossville Cemetery.

In the matter of the estate of Candice E. Seffee. a/k/a Candice Ellen Steffee, and Frank G. Steffee. a/k/a George Frank Steffee, deceased. I, Wallace F. Baker, administrator of said estate, hereby will accept sealed bids for the sale of a house and lots 132. 134, 136 and 138 on Spruce Street in the City of Rossville, Shawnee County, Kansas, said sealed bids are to be addressed to me at Belvue, Kansas. Said offers for the purchase of this real estate will be opened in my office on the 27th day of May, 1959.
