Deaths and Funerals
Diptheria Causes Death of Child
Jerry Mae Stovall, the seventeen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stovall, died about 7 o'clock Tuesday morning, after a very brief illness. The child became ill about 4 o'clock Tuesday morning and passed away three hours later.
Sunday night she was ill for a time but Monday was apparently well again but her last illness developed during the night Monday with croupy tendencies and Dr. Miller was sent for immediately.
The child's death was a severe shock to the young parents, who had just got located in Rossville, coming here from Wyoming.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, of a private nature, conducted by Rev. G.C. Albin of the M.E. church and the little one was laid to rest in Rossville cemetery.
The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved parents in their hour of sorrow. Jerry Mae was born at Rocky Springs, Wyoming June 29, 1922.
Our baby has gone and left us,
We will miss her bright smile,
But she has gone to live with Jesus
Where we'll meet her after while. |
