Mrs. Orville Strimple, a recent bride was the guest of honor at a bridal shower Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Naomi Pendleton, with Mr. Opal Bush and Mrs. Agnes Snoddy assisting hostesses. Following a social afternoon dainty refreshments of ice cream, cake and lemonade were served. The bride received many lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turner announce the marriage of their daughter Jacqueline Jean, to Mr. Orville E. Strimple, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Strimple of Rossville. The wedding took place Saturday morning, June 10, at 8 o'clock at the home of the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Strimple, with his grandfather reading the double ring ceremony before a bank of garden flowers.
The groom's sister, Mrs. Viola McClain was the brides attendant. The best man was Vencille McClain who live in Ottawa.
The bride wore a tan suit with pink accessories, and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. McClains corsage was of white chrysanthemums.
After a short wedding trip to the Ozarks, they will reside in Rossville.
Mr. Strimple is employed by the Goodyear Tire Company at Topeka.

ROSSVILLE - Jacqueline J. “Jackie" Strimple, 71, Rossville, died Sunday, Jan. 11,2004, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Rossville, the daughter of Henry and Vivian Divine Lloyd. She had lived in the Rossville community all her life. She attended Rossville schools. She was a homemaker, and a member of Rossville United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Auxiliary of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville. She married Orville Strimple on June 10, 1950, at Rossville. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Jan Dannefer and Gay Nadeau, both of Rossville; a brother, Jim Turner, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, on May 8, 1975; and by another grandson, Jordan David Nadeau, on March 1, 2001. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Strimple will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in St. Marys, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion or to the Rossville Community Swimming Pool Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
