| Obituary- Stroup, Otis Otis Stroup
News of the death, Sunday morning of Otis Stroup, saddened the entire community. He passed away in the state hospital in Topeka, where he was taken Feb. 2, for treatment.
H had been in failing health for some time and had lost the sight in both eyes, resulting from a tumor on the brain.
Otis was born Jan. 27, 1908, Rossville and passed away at the age of 32 years and 14 days. He was the younger son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S.H. "Doc" Stroup.
He was united in marriage May 4, 1928 to Ruth Burlew.
To this union were born two sons: Otis Scott who is five and Larry Nathan age 3. He is also survived by one brother Nathan of Topeka; and his grandmother, Mrs. A.B. Stum of this community.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Rossville Christian church with the pastor, Lloyd Robbins officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Fannie Reser and Mrs. Loma Jamieson, accompanied by Frances Eversole.
The pall bearers were: Joe Barney, L.J. Henderson, Jack Gleason, Ray Prater, Richie White and William Hesse. Burial was in the Rossville cemetery.
