Celebrated Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Timmons, Delia, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 6, 1987. They were married at Westmoreland on June 6, 1937.
The Timmons have three children — Pauline Conley, Delia; Donald Timmons, Denver, Colo., and Dale Timmons, Topeka. They have eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Timmons Couple
A 50th wedding anniversary celebration will be held for Carroll and Cordelia Timmons on Sunday, October 11, 1987, at Rossville United Methodist Church, in Rossville, Ks., from 2 to 4 p.m.
Friends and relatives are welcome to join in this celebration. Their children — Joe and Pauline Conley, Delia, Don Timmons, Denver, Colo., and Dale and Kay Timmons, Topeka, will be the hosts.
The couple requests no gifts.

Carroll R. Timmons and Cordelia Belle Carley were married June 6, 1937 at the Baptist Church Parsonage, Wamego.
Mr. Timmons retired from carrying the Topeka State Journal in 1980 but still maintains a Topeka Capital-Journal route at Delia and Rossville. Mrs. Timmons retired from Roy Frey’s Western Wear.
Their children are Pauline and Joe Conley, Delia; Donald E. Timmons, Denver; and Dale and Kay Timmons. They also have 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Carroll Rhoten Timmons, 84, Delia, died Sunday, December 10, 1995, at the Rossville Valley Manor.
He was born June 25,1911, at Laclede, the son of Riley and Viola Baxter Timmons. He had lived in the Delia community most of his life.
He grew up in the Wamego, Onaga and Laclede communities. He was a farmer and also drove a truck route for Stauffer Publications for 32 years and had over 200,000 miles of accident-free driving. He carried the “Topeka Capital-Journal” at Rossville from 1942 until 1991. He served in the CCC Camp from 1931 until 1933, and built telephone and power lines in Wisconsin.
He was married to Cordelia Bell Carley, June 6, 1937, at Wamego. She survives. He was preceded in death by an infant son, George, and another son, Donald Eugene Timmons, in 1990.
Surviving him are a daughter, Pauline M. Conley, Delia; a son, Robert Dale Timmons, Topeka; a sister, Betty Kusler, Longmont, Colo., two brothers, Melvin Timmons, Sr., Topeka, and Lyle Timmons, Manhattan; eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He will lie in state from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday (this afternoon) at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. His funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Rossville United Methodist Church; interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church or the Rossville Library, and sent in care of the funeral home.

DELIA — Carroll Rhoten Timmons, 84, Delia, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at a nursing home in Rossville.
He was born June 25, 1911, in the Laclede community in Pottawatomie County, the son of Riley and Viola Baxter Timmons, and spent his early life in the Wamego, Onaga and Laclede communities. He worked in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp from 1931 to 1933 and erected telephone and power lines in Wisconsin.
He was a farmer and drove a truck route for Stauffer Publications 32 years, having had more than 200,000 miles of. accident-free driving. He was a Capital-Journal carrier in Rossville from 1942 to 1991. He spent most of his life in the Delia community.
He was married to Cordelia Bell Carley June 6, 1937, in Wamego. She survives. A son, George Timmons; died in infancy. Another son, Donald Eugene Timmons, died in 1990.
