Mrs. Tressie E. Uhl, 92, Grantville, died late Saturday at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1890, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of John and Anna Milner Kratina. She arrived in Shawnee County when she was 2 months old and spent most of her life in the county.
Mrs. Uhl was a cook in Silver Lake High School lunch program.
She was a member of Grantville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both at Grantville, and CZBJ Lodge at Rossville.
She was married to George F. Uhl June 24,1919. He died May 29,1962.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Uhl Kendall, Grantville, and Mrs. Helen Uhl Mongold, Perry; two sons, John B. Uhl, Jackson, Mich., and Gerald Uhl, Perry; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1700 W. 7th, Topeka, 66606, or American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, Topeka, 66611.

Tressie E. Uhl
Sister Tressie E. Uhl, 92, of Grantville died in a Topeka, Kansas hospital. She was born August 15, 1890 in Czechoslovakia, daughter of John and Anna Milner Kratina, and was married to George F. Uhl, June 24, 1919, who died May 29, 1962. She was a member of Lodge Moravan No. 128 in Rossville, the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women of Grantville, and was a cook in Silver Lake High School lunch program. Services were held in Grantville with interment in Prairie Home Cemetery in Topeka. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Juanita Uhl Kendall of Grantville; Mrs. Helen Uhl Mongold of Perry; 2 sons, John B. Uhl of Jackson, Michigan; Gerald Uhl of Perry; 10 grandchildren and 11 great¬grandchildren. On behalf of the members of our lodge, I extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
