| Obituary- Wells, Margaret 1 At Rest
Margaret Virginia Wells was born August 24th, 1838 in the state of Maryland. She came west with her parents who settled in Illinois in 1851 where they remained but a few years and then moved to Buchanan county, Mo. From Missouri the family moved in 1858 to Doniphan county, Kans. and settled on a farm near Troy. here she was married, Jan. 9., 1858, to J.S. Wells. To this union seven children were born only three of whom, John, David and Clarence, are living.
Soon after the marriage they moved to Kentucky where they remained seven years, returning to Doniphan county in the year 1866, and for sixteen years resided near Troy. In the year 1882 the family moved to Jackson county, Kansas, and in the fall of 1895 they came to Rossville and purchased a home on Pearl street where they have since resided.

Her life was adorned with self denials and countless sacrifices for the comfort of others, and it can truly be said of her, "She has done what she could." Wife and mother! She is today in that beautiful land where sickness and sorrow cannot reach her.
"Let us be patient; these severe afflictions. Not from the ground arise. But oft times celestial benedictions. Assume this dark disguise." A Presbyterian
