| Anniversary- Horak, Bennie and Sara Golden Wedding Celebration For Horak Couple
Bennie and Sara Horak, Delia, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 5, 1995. They were married on August 5, 1945, in Alma.
Mr. Horak retired from Goodyear and Mrs. Horak recently retired as a school bus driver in the USD 321 School District.
The couple has a son, Don Horak, St Marys; and a daughter, Peggy Jean Workman, Osage City. They have four grandchildren and two great- granddaughters.
A reception will be hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossville American Legion Post #31 for friends and relatives of the couple. A dance will follow the reception.
The couple requests no gifts.

| Birthday- Horak, Sara Sara Horak, Silver Lake, celebrated her 80th birthday with a surprise party at Puffy's Steak & Ice House in Maple Hill, Thursday, Jan. 15.
Many loved ones were there to wish her a happy birthday, including her husband, her sister and brother-in-law, her son, three grandchildren and their spouses, and nine great-grandchildren, as well as several friends. Sara turned 80 years young on Jan. 16. |
| Obituary- Horak, Sara Sara M. Horak
Sara M. Horak, 91, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, at Peggy Kelly House in Topeka.
She was born on January 16, 1929, at Rossville, to John and Lottie T. Besta Stum. Sara grew up in the Rossville community, where she attended school.
In August of 1945, Sara Stum and Benjamin Horak were united in marriage. Bennie preceded her in death on November 29, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Duane Stum; and her daughter, Peggy Jean Workman.
Sara and Bennie farmed in the Delia community many years. She also was a school bus driver for USD #321. Sara was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church, the Rossville Senior Center, PSB Rollers, and the ZCBJ Lodge No. 418. She was an active member of the community.
Survivors include her son, Donald Horak, Delia; a sister, Agnes (Robert) Cox, Topeka; brother, Wilbur (Sally) Stum Sr., Rossville; four grandchildren, Terry (Wendi) Horak, Brian (Lisa) Horak, and Kelly (Garrett) Donovan all of Rossville and Tammy Workman, Manchester, KY; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be at the Czech-Moravan Cemetery north of Rossville. Mrs. Horak will lie in state Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Piper Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M.
