Charles E.t Littrell, 74 of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Parson, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City.
Charles Edwin Littrell was born December 20,1936 in Lawton, Oklahoma, son of James W. and Dorothy O. (Gilpin) Littrell.
He graduated from high school in Blue Mound, Kansas in 1955.
He married Florence M. Stainbrook in July of 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He would eventually receive an Associates Degree in Business Administration following his military service.
Upon his retirement in 1975 after 22 years of service, Charles was a Facilities Manager at Labette County Hospital in Parsons, Kansas for several years.
At the same time, he also worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant.
His wife, Florence preceded in death.
He was married to Carolyn S. (Allen) Bertling on August 12, 1988 in Miami, Oklahoma.
The couple moved to Warrensburg in 1989, where Charles went to work at Whiteman Air Force Base.
He retired from Civil Service in 1995.
Charles volunteered at the Warrensburg Veterans Home in the canteen, as the ice cream man.
His hobbies also included fishing and genealogy.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; six children: Charles Edwin Littrell,
Jr. and wife, Melinda of Chetopa, Kansas; Annette Buckle and husband, Rick of Girard, Kansas; Katherine Buckle and Brian Sleeper, also of Girard, Kansas; Brenda Miller and husband, George of West Plains, Missouri; Donald Bertling and wife, Janet of Valley Center, Kansas; and David Bertling and Christy Jones of Altamont, Kansas; three sisters: Nelda Bergeron and husband, Dick of Cutler, Maine; JoAnn Smithers and husband, Lane of Gardner, Kansas; and Wynonna McQuay and husband, Ron of Stockton, Missouri; two brothers: James Littrell and wife, Sherri of Drexel, Missouri; and Bobby Geane and wife,

| Obituary- Littrell, Charles 2 Jean of Winona, Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, Florence, Charles was preceded in death by both parents; his daughter, Debra J. Littrell; two granddaughters: Mindy Hughston and Kayla Walters; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Rev. Sid Tiller of Northside Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in Ft. Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kansas, at a later date, with Full Military Honors.
Memorial contributions in memory of Charles are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation in care of the funeral home.
