Freda Viola McCollough, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McCollough, Rossville, became the bride of Anthony Zemek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Zemek, St. Marys, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys, Kansas.
The Rev. Edward Thro S.J. officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. George Verschelden, soloist, and Mrs. Joe Ronsse, organist, provided the nuptial music.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a princess style floor length sheath of rosepoint lace over taffeta with long sleeves and a scalloped neckline embroidered with pearls. A sleeveless taffeta coat with bows at the shoulders, finished with appliques of rose- point lace, extended into a chapel train. Her waist length veil of imported silk illusion was held by a cluster of seed pearls. She carried a cascade of red roses.
Judy McCollough, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs. Jerry Fox, sister of the groom and Mrs. Robert Tripp, sister of the bride, were brides-matrons. Janice Zemek, sister of the groom, and Rhonda Berry were junior bridesmaids.
Jerry Fox, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Don Perry, cousin of the groom and Ralph Lundin were groomsmen. Ricky Davis of Rossville carried the rings.
Servers were Jay Self of Bethel, and Randy Haug of Kansas City, cousins of the groom. Ushers were Tom Meyer and John Ronsse.
The reception was held im-mediately following the cere-mony at the Perish Hall. Mrs. Louis Streeter of Topeka, cut the cake, Mrs. Ray Tetuon of Topeka served the punch with Mrs. Darrell Ellis, also of Topeka, assisting.
Presiding at the guest book was Vicki Ingenthron of Topeka, cousin of the groom. Gifts were opened by Diana Cowan, Judy and Bonnie Fauerbach of Rossville.
A brunch was served after the reception for relatives and the wedding party.
The bride, a graduate of Rossville Rural High School and Clark’s School of Business is employed by Victory Life Insurance Co. in Topeka. The groom is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and is employed by Capital Marble and Tile Co. of Topeka. They are living in an apartment in Rossville.
