McGinnis-Schuetz Wedding Held July 1 in Rossville
Danielle Rae McGinnis and Thomas Arthur Schuetz exchanged marriage vows Friday, July 1, in the Rossville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Deborah Ackman officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nolan McGinnis, Rossville, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schuetz, Hiawatha.

Attending the bride were her sisters, Stephanie Hoffman, Topeka, and Leslie McGinnis, Rossville. They wore yellow polyester gowns with lace trimmed cap sleeves flowing from the round neckline. They wore yellow and white daisy mums in their hair and carried nosegays of yellow and white daisy mums with baby's breath. The groom's daughter, Jennifer, and the bride's niece, Traci Hoffman, were flower girls and wore yellow dresses identical to those of the attendants. The girls carried baskets containing yellow and white rose petals.

The groom was attended by John Wilkerson and Dick Floyd, both of Topeka. Monte McGinnis, brother of the bride, served as usher and candlelighter. Ring bearer David Channel, Rossville, carried a white satin pillow edged with lace.

Organist Ruth Rogers, Rossville, accompanied Randy Dick, also of Rossville, as he sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Wedding Song."

The bride chose a gown of white organza. Re-embroidered lace framed the slit neckline, and trimmed the full bishop sleeves. The full, circular skirt flowed into a chapel length, with lace encircling the hem. A fingertip length veil of white illusion edged in lace, held by a bandeau headpiece completed her wedding attire. Her jewelry was a delicate gold chain and diamond earrings. She carried a cascade of yellow roses and baby's breath. With this, she held a Bible belonging to her mother which was used in her wedding, and a handkerchief carried by her grandmother, Mrs. Glenn Wright of Mankato, at her wedding 50 years ago.

The groom wore a white Seville tuxedo with a yellow rose boutonniere. The other men in the wedding party wore mint green Seville tuxedos also with yellow boutonnieres.

The bride's mother chose a yellow double-knit gown with a lace trimmed chiffon cape. The groom's mother wore a blue double-knit gown. Both wore daisy mum corsages.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The altar was decorated with candelabra and floral arrangements of yellow and white daisy mums and baby's breath. The pews were marked with brass candles and white bows.

The couple presented their mothers with long stemmed yellow roses at the close of the ceremony.

Sandra Lister, Rossville, a friend and former classmate of the bride, was seated at the guest book.

A reception was hosted by the McGinnises in the Mainstreeter Club. The bride's table was covered with a white lace cloth and decorated with yellow and white daisy mum floral arrangements around white candles. The four-tiered wedding cake was decorated with yellow roses. Serving at the reception table were Janice Schuetz, the groom's sister-in-law, and Mary Channel and Helen Thompson, friends of the couple.

The bride's aunts, Merna Keeler, Formoso, and Patricia Wright, Washington, assisted by their daughters, Julie Keeler, and Kelli and Sammi Wright, were in charge of the gift table.

Mrs. Schuetz is a graduate of Rossville High School and Kan Area Vocational Technical School. She is employed by Drs. Preston, Bridwell, McClellan and Cozine. Mr. Schuetz is a graduate of Hiawatha High School and Washburn University. He served four years in the Navy and is currently employed by Essex Wire Corporation as a warehouse supervisor. The couple is at home at 4420 S.W. 61st in Topeka.
