Services were held Monday, January 5, in Grace Chapel, Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, California for George Raymond Banta, 70; who died in Culver City, Calif, of a heart ailment on December 31, 1975.
Mr. Banta was born March 21, 1905 in Delia, Ks., the first son of 12 children of Mary and Therman Banta. He took up residence in California in 1927, where he worked for the City of Beverly Hills for 36 years until his retirement in 1966.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Wood, and two grandchildren, Hadley and Christopher George, of La Jolla, Calif.; also by five sisters and four brothers all of California -- Ruth Brees, Eagle Rock; Gladys Kerrigan, Hayward; Bill Banta, Kernville; Okley Gretchenuk, Woodland Hills; Earl Banta, Escondido; Glenn Banta, Culver City, Vivian Schultz, Culver City; Marjorie Jackson, Northridge and Pat Banta of Canoga Park. Mr. Banta survived two sisters, Jean Conn of Atmore, Ala., and Anna Marie of Delia, Ks.
