Mrs. Van de Velde
Mrs. Christina Van de Velde, 78, Emmett, died Friday in a Topeka hospital where she had been a patient about two weeks. She was admitted after she suffered a broken hip.
She was born Sept. 3, 1890, at Shawnee and had lived at Emmett since 1905. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church at Emmett.
She was married to Charles J.
Van de Velde April 21, 1915, at Emmett. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, August C. Van de Velde and Charles R. Van de Velde, both of Emmett, and Bernard A. Van de Velde, 2733 Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mrs. Veronia Gaignat, Lenexa; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Emmett. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at Emmett. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys.
