Miss Vina James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. James, of Rossville, and Mr. Harley C. McCoid, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. McCoid, of Silver Lake, were united in marriage Tuesday, Nov. 6. The wedding occurred at the home of the groom's sister, Mrs. Vernon Frank, 204 Greenwood, Topeka, at 4 o'clock, Rev. Ryerson, of the Trinity Methodist church, officiating. The only witnesses were Mr. William James brother of the bride and Mrs. Frank.
The bride wore a suit of dark blue Poriet twill, and black hat. A blouse was trimmed to match her fawn colored gauntlet gloves. A corsage bouquet of pink roses was worn.
The wedding party returned to the bride's home where an elaborate dinner was served at 7 o'clock fro the members of the two families.
After a short trip to Arkansas City, Mr. and Mrs. McCoid will be "at home" to their friends at Silver Lake after November 12.

 | Anniversary- McCoid, Harley and Margaret McCoids To Celebrate Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Harley McCoid, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 4, with a reception at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Hosts for the occasion will be their daughter, Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Wegener and Mr. Wegener, and their son. Major James H. McCoid and Mrs. McCoid, and their four grandchildren - Scott, Jill and Jay McCoid, and Dennis Wegener.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2:00 to 4:30. The couple requests no gifts be presented.
Mr. and Mrs. McCoid were married November 6, 1923, at the home of Mr. McCoid’s sister, Ruth, in Topeka. A wedding dinner was given that evening for the members of both families by Mrs. McCoid’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. James in Rossville.

Vina McCoid, 94, Hiawatha, died Monday, December 14,1998, at a Hiawatha nursing home.
Mrs. McCoid taught school in a one-room school house in Kingsville many years ago.
She was born January 11,1904, near Rossville, the daughter of Charles and Mollie Reser James. She attended school at Rossville and earned a teaching certificate at Emporia State Teacher’s College. She lived in the Silver Lake and Rossville areas many years before she moved to Hiawatha in 1978.
Mrs. McCoid was a member of the United Methodist Church, Loyal Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star at Silver Lake, HU Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood in Hiawatha, was active in the Extension Unit, and a 4-H club leader for many years. She also was a charter member of the community club of Silver Lake.
She married Harley C. McCoid November 6, 1923. He died December 28,1978.
Survivors include a son, James McCoid, McCall, IN; a daughter, Barbara Wegener, Hiawatha; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her service was Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha. Graveside service was Wednesday at the Silver Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church or the First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha, and sent in care of Framke-Casselman-Meek Funeral Home, Hiawatha.
