  Documents		Marriage- Parr, Mildred-Laurence, Tom PARR-LAURENCE Miss Mildred Parr, youngest daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Parr, and Mr. Tom Laurence, of Leavenworth, Kan, were united in marriage Saturday forenoon, September 22, at Topeka. The wedding took place at the Potwin Presbyterian Manse, the Rev. H. L. Nelson, officiating. Miss Bertha Shideler, of Silver Lake, a niece of the bride, was the only attendant. Mrs. Laurence has grown to womanhood in this community and has the esteem of a large circle of acquaintances. She received her education in the Rossville schools, graduating with the class of 1925. Mr. Laurance is a brother of Mrs. J. W. Nuhn. He has been a resident of Rossville the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence will be at home for the present on the Parr farm west of Rossville. The Reporter joins their friends in extending congratulations.

  Obituary- Metzler, Mildred Topeka State Journal Thursday 30 Dec., 1971, pg. 7: Mrs. Mildred J. Metzler, 65, Raytown, Mo., died Wednesday in a Kansas City hospital following a short illness. She was born in Rossville Nov. 15, 1906 and had been a resident of Topeka until last August when she moved to Raytown. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. She was married to Ralph Metzler in Topeka in 1934. He survives at the home. other survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Phyliss Pearson, Raytown, Mo., Mrs. Virginia Ferrell, Garland, Tex., and Mrs. Marjorie Eakes, Topeka; a son, Dean Lawrence Metzler, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Montgomery, Modesto, Calif.; a brother, James O. Parr, lemon Grove, Calif., and 3 grandchildren. Services will be Monday at Parker Mortuary Chapel with burial in Topeka Cemetery.
