ROSSVILLE — Rose P. Hutchings, 82, Rossville, died Sunday, May 24, 1992, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mrs. Hutchings was a cashier and bookkeeper for Allied stock brokers before she retired in 1953.
She was born Sept. 7, 1909, in Huron, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Alouise Buka Pekarek. She was graduated from Topeka High School. She returned to Shawnee County in 1967 and lived in the Topeka and Rossville areas since.
Mrs. Hutchings was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and the Woman's Club of Topeka and was a volunteer for Sheltered Living of Topeka.
She was married to Ralph D. Hutchings in 1942, at Forest Hills, N.Y. He died in 1964.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Hutchings, Topeka; a sister, Alouise Davis, Rossville; and a brother, Frank Pekarek, Manitou Springs, Colo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Hutchings will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
