Carol J. Luttig, 81, Emmett, passed away Monday, April 16,2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.
She was born Sept. 11, 1930, at Abilene, the daughter of Charles and Clara Miller Phillips. They lived in California until Carol was 11 years old and the family moved to the Enterprise, Kan., community. She graduated from Enterprise High School.
Carol was a homemaker and the accountant for her husband’s welding and manufacturing business. She was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett, a member of the Jolly Workers Club, the Senior Citizens and had been a leader of the Emmett Hustlers 4-H-Club.
On Nov. 10,1956, she was united in marriage to G. Dale Luttig at Assumption Catholic Church, Topeka. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15,2009. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judith, on May 16, 1967, and a son, David W. Luttig on Feb. 13,2010.
Carol and Dale were square dancers and loved to travel.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy (Denny) Clayton, Rossville; a granddaughter Amanda Clayton and a great-granddaughter Chloe Clayton both of Rossville; her brother, Don (Georgia)Phillips, Abilene; a brother-in-law Bill Gilliland, Wichita; sisters-in-law Ruth Phillips, Carlton and Betty Riley, Keizer, Ore.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, April 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Emmett.
Interment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Emmett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, KS 66536.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. Mrs. Luttig will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 20,2012 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where there will be a Prayer Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Emmett. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Assn, and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 W. Maple, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
