BILLINGS, Mont. — Clarissa M. Whearty, 93, Billings, Mont., died Monday, Aug. 28,1995, at a Billings nursing home.
Mrs. Whearty owned a hearing-aid franchise. She worked on an assembly line during World War II and had taught school one year in Yuma, Colo.
She was born July 5, 1902, in Yates Center, Kan., the daughter of Albertus and Lydia Wagner. She was graduated from high school in Iola and earned an associate degree from Emporia, Kan., Teachers College.
Mrs. Whearty was a former member and worthy matron of Beulah Chapter No. 34 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Topeka, Kan. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Edna Hedges Chapter No. 15 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Bath Zabbia Temple No. 21 of the Daughters of the Nile.
She married Lawrence Whearty on Sept. 12, 1924. He died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Whearty, Billings, Mont.; a sister, Lillian Palminteri, Freehold, N.J.; many grand¬children; great-grandchildren; arid great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Grace Methodist Church in Billings. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Methodist Church or to St. John's Nursing Home. Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist Mortuary in Billings is in charge of arrangements.
