Margaret E. Hladky, 81, Emmett, died Monday, September 28, 1998, at Rossville Valley Manor.
She was born January 30, 1917, at St. Marys, the daughter of James E. and Margaret Wells.
She lived in the Emmett community for many years.
She grew up in the St. Marys community. She had worked for the sewing factory in Holton for several years. She and her husband had operated restaurants in Delia and in Emmett.
She was married to Garnett “Bud” Hladky. He survives at the home in Emmett.
Other survivors include two daughters, Joy L. Bostelmann, Emmett, and Joan E. Henneke, Rossville; two sons, James Hladky, Abilene, and Johnny Hladky, Emmett; two sisters, Alberta and Erma Jean; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joyce Hladky, and a daughter, Judy Hladky.
Her service was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Belvue. Family visitation was Wednesday at the funeral home. Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys was in charge of arrangements.

EMMETT — Margaret E. Hladky, 81, Emmett, died Monday, Sept. 28,1998, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mrs. Hladky and her husband owned and operated restaurants in Delia and Em¬mett and she had worked in a sewing factory in Holton tor several years.
She was born Jan. 30, 1917, at St. Marys, the daughter of James E. and Mar¬garet Wells. She was reared at St. Marys and lived at Emmett for many years.
She married Garnett Hladky. He survives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Horne in St. Marys. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery at Belvue. Mrs. Hladky will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
