Wehner & Weybrew Marriage Solemnized
Helen Margaret Wehner and Martin Glen Weybrew were married at 10 a.m. September 11 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville. The Rev. Donald Reck officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wehner, Rossville, and Mr. and Mrs. M.G. Weybrew, Wamego.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride satin fashioned with fitted bodice, high neckline and a chapel train. She carried a cascade of white gladioli.
Mrs. Marvin Burgett, Rossville, was her sister's matron of honor, and Peggy Rezac, St. Marys, was bridesmaid. They wore street-length dresses of Royal Blue brocade. Their wedding ring veils were of the same material. They carried a cascade of pink gladioli. Steven Copeland, Rossville, carried the rings.
Best man was Steve Weybrew, Wamego, and Larry Wehner, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Ushers were Marvin Burgett and John Wehner.
A reception in the Rossville Community Center followed the ceremony. Assisting were Miss Virginia Stach, Miss Diana Cowan, Miss Freda McCollough, Miss Norma Klingenberg and Mrs. Edgar Tulles.
Following a short wedding trip to the Ozarks, the couple is at home in Rossville.
The bride, a graduate of Rossville High School, is employed at Wehner's Variety and Wehner's Dry Goods Stores in St. Marys. Mr. Weybrew is a graduate of Wamego High School and is employed by Farmers Union Implement Co., St. Marys. |

Bridget Marie Weybrew and Kelly Devin Remer were united in marriage in a noon ceremony June 4, 1994, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. The Rev. John Erickson officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Helen and Calvin Lytle, Rossville, and the late Martin Weybrew Jr. Mr. Remer is the son of Lora Remer, Durango, Colorado., and the late John Remer.
Michelle Martin, Topeka, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaid was Barbara Weybrew, Topeka. Jasmine McLamb was the flower girl.
Craig Schupe, Durago, was best man. The groomsman was Bob Rathjen, Durango. The ring bearer was the bridegroom's son, Joshua Remer, Durango.
Serving as ushers were Paul Weybrew, Topeka, and Jeff Wehner, Rossville.
The organist was Sandy Wichman, Rossville. Sue Ives, Topeka, and Brenda Dudney, Rossville, sang at the wedding.
Reception table attendants were Candy Brecheisen, Tracy Trimble, Waunita Smith, Paula Wehner, all of Rossville, and Denice Weybrew, Topeka. Micki Rathjen, Durango, was the guest book attendant.
Betsy Lytle, Rossville, was the program attendant. Gift attendants were Elicia Stepp, Cortez, Colo., and Crystal Chapman, Sierra Vista, Ariz.
Linda Wehner, Rossville, did the petitions. June Burgett, Rossville, was the lector. Patrick Lytle, Rossville, was the altar boy. John and Peggy Wehner, St. Marys, were gift bearers. Buffet coordinator was Marlene Kokenge, Rossville.
Denice Weybrew, Topeka, also was the brides' person attendant.
The bride is a graduate of Rossville High School and Washburn University with a degree in education. She is a physical education teacher at Jardine Middle School in Topeka.
Mr. Remer is a graduate of Durango High School. He served four years in the U.S. Army and now serves in the Army Reserve. He attended Law Area Technical School, where he studied electricity, heating and cooling. He is employed by College Hill Plumbing and Heating in Topeka.
After a honeymoon in Durango, the couple live in Topeka.
