ROSSVILLE -- Doris White Townsend, 74, formerly of the Delia and Rossville areas, died Friday, Dec. 22, 1995, at a San Francisco hospital.
Mrs. Townsend worked for Pacific Bell Telephone for more than 40 years before she retired.
She was born Jan. 1, 1921, at Delia, the daughter of Preston and Edna Meyers White.
No immediate family members survive.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.

Doris W. Townsend
Doris White Townsend, 74, South San Francisco, Calif., died Friday, December 22, 1995, at a Carmichael, California hospital.
She was born January 1, 1921, in Delia, the daughter of Preston and Edna Meyers White. She grew up in the Delia and Rossville communities, and had lived in California for many years. She worked for the Pacific Bell Telephone Company for over 40 years.
She is survived by two cousins, Donald White, Campbell, Calif., and George McAfee, in Georgia; and an uncle, Clark Meyers, Decatur, Ga.
Her funeral service was at 2:00 Friday afternoon at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Rossville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. |
