The announcement was made this week of the marriage of Miss Maude White of Rossville and Mr. Don [sic John] Yoder, of Herrington, Kansas. The marriage took place at Kansas City on Wednesday, September 30. Miss White has been employed there in a hospital while studying for a professional nurses' certificate. Mr. and Mrs. Yoder will make their home at Rich Hill, Mo. |

| Obituary- Yoder, Maude Maude Ethel Yoder
Maude Ethel Yoder was born in Soldier, Kansas, August 22, 1888, and passed away at Council Grove, Kansas, September 16, 1936. She moved with her parents to Rossville at the age of 1 year. After her graduation from the Rossville high school she taught three years, going from here to Philadelphia, Pa., where she entered the Blockley Hospital Training School for nurses. She was there about two years when she was called home by the death of her sister. She continued her nurse training in Kansas City for a short time and was married to John N. Yoder September 14, 1914. They moved to Campbell, Mo. and spent one year in a photograph studio, moving from there to Effingham, Ill. for a year then settled in Council Grove where they have lived since.
Mrs. Yoder was a member of the S.B.A. lodge, the Business and Professional Womans Club besides various other clubs in Council Grove, and with her husband was active in the business and social affairs of the city.
She is survived by her husband, John N. Yoder, her mother, Mrs. J.E. White, three sisters, Mrs. Ida McAdams, Minco, Okla., Mrs. F.R. Rice, Kansas City, Kans., Miss Grace White of Rossville; four brothers, Arthur E., C.P., and A.N. of Rossville, and James A. of Waukesha, Wis.
The following out-of-town relatives and friends were in Rossville last Friday to attend the funeral service for Mrs. John Yoder: Mr. and Mrs. F.R. Rice and Mrs. Frank Huffman of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. E.C. McAfee of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snyder, Mrs. Robt. Durland, Mrs. Harry White, Mrs. Harley Furney, Mrs. Clay Hayden, Mrs. Bill Young and Mr. Edwin Marks of Council Grove.

Mrs. Don Yoder
Mrs. Don Yoder of Council Grove, passed away Wednesday morning in the Council Grove hospital following a major operation.
Funeral services will be held at Council Grove, tomorrow (Friday), at 10 a.m. and the body brought to Rossville cemetery for burial at 2 o'clock.
Mrs. Yoder was formerly Maude White, daughter of Mrs. J.E. White of this city.
