| Obituary- Miles, Fern Fern A. Miles
Fern Adele Miles, 80, Meriden, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born April 7, 1920, in Rossville, the daughter of Baxter Newton and Alice Faye Worthington Wilder.
She graduated from Silver Lake High School and Stewart’s Beauty Academy of Topeka. She was employed as an accountant by Pelletier’s Department Store, Ripley’s Cleaners, and for 25 years, the City of Topeka Finance Department, until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Meriden, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Friendly Matrons, and the Country Quilters.
On October 5,1940, she married Merl E. Miles in Kansas City, KS. He died on September 28, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Larry Miles, Meriden; a grandson and granddaughter.
Her service was at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Meriden United Methodist Church. Burial was in Meriden Cemetery. A family visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary.
