Dora Dean Hartzell, age 89, of Topeka, passed away
Saturday, September 17,2016 at the Rolling Hills Care Home. Dora was born April 18,1927 in Burchard, NE, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Kaiserman Wilkins. Dora worked for Hallmark Cards for a number of years and later retired from Adams Business Forms in 1987. She married Donald Wayne Hartzell on August 31,1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 25,1985. She is also preceded in death by a son, Stanley F. Hartzell on November 25, 1996 and sisters, Leota, Irene, Virginia, Alberta, Meletta and Dorothy. She is survived by a daughter, Paula K. (Dennis) Wakes of Topeka and her grand-children, Robert (Michelle), Sonya, Christopher (Cortney), Christina (Devin), DJ. (Danielle) and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dora was a member of the First Christian Church. Dora loved playing cards, bingo, crocheting, traveling and spending time with family.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 21,
2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Tuesday from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home, davidsonfuneral.com
