Jeanette Wilt and Rick Thornton exchanged vows at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, in the First United Methodist Church of Wichita, Kansas. Jeanette is a nursery school teacher and Rick is a minister, both in Wichita. They are living at 3108 Stafford, Wichita, Ks.
The bride was given away by her father, Earl B. Wilt of
Rossville. The matron of honor was Marilyn Whittle, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rosie Brown of Rossville and Donna McDaniel of Wichita. The best man was Dale Polleck of Missouri. Groomsmen were Don Wilson of Abilene and Howard Wilt of Arizona.
The processional was led by two candle lighters, followed by bridesmaids, ring bearer, two flower girls and the bride. Colors for the wedding were yellow and blue and the flowers were daisies. Guests were seated by Mark Wilt, John Wilt, Gene Whittle, Jerry Black, Jack Ropp and Harry McDaniel. A reception in the basement of the church followed the wedding.

| Obituary- Thornton, Jeanette JEANETTE THORNTON
Jeanette Thornton, 56, instructional coach for Allen Elementary, Wichita, died Nov. 9, 2005.
Jeanette graduated from Rossville High School and then graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in early childhood education. She later attended Wichita State University and earned bachelors and masters degrees in elementary education. Children and teaching were always the focus during her education, career and life.
She and her husband Rev. Rick Thornton served several United Methodist churches in Wichita, Hesston, Russell, Valley Center and Winfield.
She is survived by her husband, Rick; daughter, Megan Thornton of Lawrence; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Todd Gaugler of Wichita; grandchildren, Emily and Wyatt Gaugler; brothers, Howard Wilt of Phoenix, Ariz.; John Wilt of Danville, Vir.; and Mark Wilt of Rossville; sister, Marilyn Whittle of Enterprise; uncle, Gene Feaster of Overland Park.
Services were held Nov. 12 at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Memorials have been established with Allen Elementary School, Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
