Obituary
Fred Primley died at his home at Rossville, Kansas, June 21, 1894, aged 71 years 1 month and 5 days. He had been in poor health several months previous to his death, but was not considered dangerously ill until a few days before his decease, at which time his children were telegraphed for. His history, as far as can be ascertained, is as follows: Fred Primley was born near Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio. When a small boy of seven years, he removed with is father's family to a place near Covington, Ind. At the age of 27 he was married to Ruth Ogle, eldest daughter of James and Elizabeth Ogle, in the year 1850. In 1852 or 1853 he, with his wife and one child, moved to Keithsburg, Ill., remaining there until the Spring of 1860, when, with his little family of five, together with his brother-in-law and family, he removed to California. In 1873 he returned and settled in Missouri, near to Kansas City. In 1878 he met with a sad loss in the death of his beloved wife. With seven children (one having preceded its mother) he was left to mourn the loss of a dear companion, wife, and mother. Soon after, he sold his interests there, and in 1882 came to Rossville, where he remained until his death. In 1883 Mr. Primley was married to Mrs. Jane Petty, of Covington, Ind., who, with seven children, remain to mourn the loss of the one only gone before. In 1885, together with his present wife, he united with the Christian church, at Rossville, and up to his death was a firm believer of the Gospel of Christ. He said he was ready and willing to go at any time. He had no fear of death, and fell asleep calmly and peacefully. He fought the good fight, and the battle was won. Glorious victory! He was laid to rest in the Rossville cemetery last Saturday evening June 23.
