Obituary- Cowan, Louis
Louis M. Cowan
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Cath¬olic Church, Rossville, for Louis M. Co¬wan, 87, Rossville. He died Saturday, March 10, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Cowan had been the only surviv¬ing member of the first graduating class, in 1915, at Delia High School, Delia.
He was born Feb. 7, 1897, at Uniontown, Ky., the son of John T. and Sarah E. Barnett Cowan. He lived in the Delia and Rossville communities after 1911.
He was a farmer and carpenter.
Mr. Cowan was a member of St. Sta¬nislaus Catholic Church, Rossville.
He was married to Catherine E. Meyer May 3, 1943, at St. Marys. She died Sept. 30, 1983.
Survivors include a brother, John T. Cowan, Rossville.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cem¬etery at St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Louis M. Cowan, 87, Rossville, died late Saturday, March 10, 1984, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born Feb. 7, 1897, at Uniontown, Ky., the son of John T. Cowan and Sarah E. Barnett. He lived in the Rossville-Delia community since 1911.
Mr. Cowan was the only member of the first graduating class of 1915 at Delia High School. He was a retired farmer and worked as a carpenter for many years.
He married Catherine E. Meyer May 3, 1943, at the Immaculata Chapel at St. Marys College. She passed away Sept. 30, 1983.
Survivors include a brother, John T. Cowan, Rossville; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cowan will lie in state from 4 p.m. Tuesday (today) until service time. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
Casket bearers are Larry Martinek, Charles Immenschuh, Jerry Perry, Kenneth Cowan, Keith Cowan, and Ronald Cowan.
